RAISE

Description

Refugee Advice, information & Support into Employment (RAISE) 2016 - 2021

The RAISE project aims to support at least 200 refugees and equip them with skills and competences to improve their work readiness. It covers the South London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond and Sutton.

What is it?

The project offers a range of training workshops including teaching of English as a second language (ESOL) at pre-entry level and sector-focussed English language tutorials to support access to IELTS for people with professional qualifications; job search and job brokerage; and ‘wrap-around’ services such as counselling and signposting to housing support.

Project is led by London Training and Employment Network (LTEN) and delivered in partnership with Breaking Barriers and STORM Family Centre.
